2013 Workshop for Leaders "How to Recruit and Hire Your Ideal Candidate"
A 90 minute session that was geared toward current managers with direct reports who may be new to recruitment, have not recruited in a while, or may be planning to recruit in the near future.

Topics covered included position description essentials, determining minimum qualifications, and tips on narrowing your application pool to find the best candidate.

Compliance Awareness Training Sessions
The Catholic University of America's Compliance Awareness Training was developed first in a classroom format with in-person presentations provided by the Compliance and Privacy Officer. Implemented in September 2011, 11 in-person sessions were held and 331 staff and faculty employees attended. In May 2012 mandatory online Compliance Awareness Training was implemented for all staff and faculty. In-person sessions continue to be provided by the Compliance and Privacy Officer upon request, and are customized based on the particular risks most pertinent to the unit attending. Individuals who attend in-person sessions satisfy the requirement to complete the mandatory online module.

General Finance Orientation
General Finance Orientation was held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.

Customer Service Training
A customized two hour Customer Service training for IT professionals was held on Wednesday March 9, 2011.

All work-study supervisors are required to attend training in order to hire work-study students. New supervisor training was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Returning supervisor training will be offered online at beginning Aug. 5.

Conquering Challenging Customer Interactions

Law School support staff and management staff recently completed a Carebridge Corporation Workshop on handling angry, difficult, or upset customers. Training involved understanding customer behavior, why customers get upset, the stress response, controlling your thoughts/responses, helping others to manage their frustrations, actions to take when all else fails, and how to let go and refocus. Additional support was provided by the Counseling Center team on characteristics of Law School Students as Unique Customers.

HR Summer Workshop 2009 - How to Optimize the Annual Performance Evaluation Process
The HR leadership team held workshops in July 2009 for managers and employees on the performance evaluation process. Presentation material is available For Managers who need to evaluate their employees, and For Employees who are being evaluated.
